Custom Wrapping Paper
Thanksgiving is over and everyone can finally start their holiday prep without feeling like we're being over zealous about it and some things don't really ever change: we buy gifts, we wrap gifts, we hide the gifts and then we wait to give and get all the things.
This time around, I'm thinking we spruce up our gift wrapping game.
We will work through a few different wrapping options together: Flower Accents, Honeycomb Bow & Custom Message. You can wrap all your gifts at once and then come back to the individual instructions of your choice. And HERE WE GO!
1- Pick out which flowers you will be using & cut them to fit onto your gift accordingly. My gift box is perfectly square so I chose to center my flower arrangement. But that's just me.
Tip: Mix & Match your flowers for more depth and texture. There is no right or wrong way to do this but I like to use smaller or "filler" florals as the background floral and add a more bold or bigger petaled flower in the front for some extra pop.
2- Use a complementary washi tape to attach you floral arrangement onto the box.
Tip: More than one strip will help secure the flowers better so try different patterns: 'x' marks the spot, angled lines, chevron, etc.
1- Pick out 3-4 mini honeycombs...we are using 2" honeycombs for our presents since the gift boxes are fairly small but you can definitely up the size if your gifts are bigger and you have more space to play with.
2-Cut your ribbon choices long enough to wrap around your gift twice.
3-Tape (or glue) either end of your ribbon inside your honeycombs and secure the honeycombs closed.
Side Note: Most honeycombs come with adhesive tape already attached. If your do not, tape or glue them closed to secure.
4- Knot all your ribbons together as close as possible to your honeycomb base.
5- Center your honeycomb bouquet and stretch each ribbon out, away from the bouquet.
6- Flip the box over, holding the ribbons together to keep the gift center. Think: hanging plant. The gift is your plant. The ribbons are letting it hang. The poms are centered at the base. Got it?
7- Tie your ribbon to secure (A little piece of tape can't hurt either.) and then flip your gift back over, revieling the poms and excess ribbon.
8- Bring the ribbons center and tie into the bouquet.
Note: You can either cut the excess ribbon at this point or curl it and let it rest with your poms.
1- Choose a message to write on the gift. We chose: 'You are my person'.
2- Stencil (or free hand) your message onto the top side of the wrapped gift. Set gift aside.
3- Cut a piece of clear mylar tissue paper from your roll. The piece should be big enough to re-wrap your gift. Lay flat on surface.
4-Sprinkle confetti or sequence onto the the mylar paper.
5- Lay gift, message down, onto the mylar paper.
& That's It!
