A Little Heart-Felt Introduction

In addition to the 'About Me' section of the website, I thought it would be a good idea to let you in to our family a little bit more.

Prior to falling in love, getting married and having kids,  I was this super ambitious (kind of cut-throat) college graduate, applying for admission to a masters program and planning my take-over of the sport/entertainment industry.

Even after finding out that I was pregnant the first time, I was still laser focused on my professional plans; After a c-section, I laid off the pain meds so that my mind could stay clear enough to take my second phone-interview with the NBA league office....2 days after giving the hospital...still in my robe & catheter.

I was pretty much insane.

I got the (temp) position I had interviewed for and went back to work 1 month after my son was born. After that, things slowed down in my mind. I was a mom now. All the focus that my career had a monopoly on now belonged to a much more important and fulfilling job: motherhood.

As a marketing & event coordinator, I was expected to be creative and think outside of the box. While planning events for fans & players was great and on a much larger scale, I was most happy planning my kids' little play dates & birthday parties & all of their "first" celebrations-- everything was worth celebrating. Everything still is.

My oldest, Eddy, will be going off to school in a year. Time has flown by! This got me thinking of my own life, happiness, meaning-- all that eat, pray, love stuff-- and I realized that I'd be most happy focusing my creativity & ambition into a joint project with my kids. And here we are.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little more.

This blog will focus (mainly) on party stuff-- diy, styling, etc.--but I wanted to offer up a huge virtual 'Hello!' and 'Nice to meet ya!' before all that fun stuff begins. Welcome to this community. We hope you stick around.

Ashly, Alice & Eddy, and team.
